The Long Weaving started as a personal inquiry and journey. It is also a living library - a place where ideas about belonging, love, community, and human cooperation are gathered, explored, and returned to.

The Question
The Long Weaving exists at the intersection of inner practice and outer architecture - the place where the work of becoming a more loving person meets the work of building more loving systems.
It began as a question: what would it look like if loving kindness were not just a personal practice but a structural technology - something that could be woven into the fabric of our relationships, our families, our communities, our institutions, and our daily lives?
The books, conversations, essays, practices, and more gathered here are explorations of that question. They are not answers. They are threads - offered with the hope that together we might weave something that holds.
What Makes My Work Different?
Joel Serino is the steward and host of The Weaving. Not a teacher but a fellow inquirer - someone who has spent years exploring the practices and ideas gathered here, and who offers them not from above but from within the circle.
His work spans contemplative practice, community organizing, and systems thinking. He is the author of the forthcoming book The Long Weaving: Devotion and Belonging for the Renewal of Community.
